how can a school, providing tertiary education NOT have even a PA system, and want to run a charity carnival, WITHOUT budgeting for a proper PA system? That alone will ensure that on that day, chaos will be all over the place.

Okay, you’ve got a can-do-must-do behringer PMX, pretty fine, but you got no speakers, no proper mics and all!

do they even have a mic stand? i doubt it. Hell, even the tech support of the school don’t know what a mini to 1/4″ cable is!  I mean…we can forgive bystanders for NOT knowing…but…a tech support? and the school don’t even have a mini to 1/4″ cable, one XLR cable for the wireless mic, speakons for the ceiling-mounted speakers, and…whoa…that’s it?

$350 for a basic PA system, inclusive of FOUR speakers IS A GREAT DEAL ALREADY. my God. you get that price, because Luther is a very generous man, and hell, ‘that is too expensive’…

so…$120/day for a pair of wharfdale passive speakers, inclusive of deliver, setup and teardown, THAT IS CHEAP. and if you don’t want to take it, i’m not going to help you guys out on that day.

So what if i’m the only person who knows how to operate and mix, or maybe the only one who bothered? i’m not PAID. so what if it’s for charity? 

hard to understand why right? imagine going to a salon, and they use scissors meant for paper to cut your hair? or even better, asking you…do you have scissors?

even the best soundman, and i’m not even close to that, will have a shitload of problems handling a CARNIVAL without a proper or even decent PA system.

and imagine if the people from straits times come down, hey…thanks for holding a carnival, now i’m going to send down a whole media crew down to cover your event…

 ehh…..no proper speakers? why the  sound so horrible? why no technical support? why? why? why?

and if you want to do this for charity, at least budget out something okay…it’s FOR CHARITY. doesn’t the school management have a brain?

and some people can just come up to me and say…yeah…but it’s only for makign announcements and just play songs and letting people sing. $700odd dollars for two days is a bit too much…. * hellow….* reality check. market rate is $1200/day.

and if spending for a pair of speakers on each day is a bit too much…i’m going to say… thanks, but i’m not free to help out on that day. $300/day for a soundman, or at least pay me what i get for being a road crew. $7/hour. otherwise, i’m going to say, i’m no expert, i’m dumb.

i’m not being proud or anything, but…would a surgeon carry out an operation without proper equipments?

*sterile? $600 for a knife? but it’s ONLY going to be used to cut open skin what…that is a bit too much right?

bullshit.

if you don’t have the money, don’t organize the carnival. coz without a PA system, you’ll FLUNK. and maybe the management ought to think twice right?

a listed company…my ass. 

bullshit doesn’t end there. should i email the owners of the school? wahha…will it be any good? i doubt it.

and that’s why, thank God for the really nice teachers and friends i have in school…otherwise…whahahahahah

What is society becoming? More and more people are becoming gays, lesbos and the whatevernots. They’re being more open about it, and are publicly displaying their affection.

Not too long ago, Darren Hayes (ex Savage Garden) announced to the world that he was married to a guy, and that he’s gay.  And then, Lance Bass (N Sync) ‘came out of the closet’ too…

THAT IS SICK.

and how many gays are trowling the road, publicly kissing, holding hands and groping?

how many lesbians do the same thing too?

and how many cross-dressers/ post-surgery trans are now being employed in public places and are publicly showing their wares to everyone?

freaking disgusting.

i might been sympathetic towards these people when i was younger, but i made up my mind, and yeah. hate me. so what, i’m ANTI-GAY/LESBO/WHATEVERNOTS.

i’m NOT okay in seeing you doing things in public, and hell no, i don’t wanna know whatever you’re doing.

God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve, or Madam and Eve.

I pity these people, because they are sick, twisted and conformed to society’s disease.

Some claim to be inheritedly gay, or feminine male, or masculine female, but hey, i don’t know the sciences, and i still am against gays getting married or even sex-change operations.

people purposely scarring themselves, painfully inserting beads underneath the skin to get that ‘ridged’ look, getting their tongue forked and that kind of stuff….

I felt quite weird reading it that day. You see, during my secondary school days, i wanted to be like that, wanted to stand out in the crowd, to be able to express myself in the unconventional way, and i really did find the whole idea of BM quite arousing.

But somehow, as time grows by, i kind of felt that you know…it’s quite crazy to do such a thing…

tattoos? piercings? BMs?

decorations eh?

i don’t know…

but i still do want to own that cross on my chest…but i’ll give it more considerations and thoughts… =)

to mom’s eldest brother, who passed away on Tuesday.

I call him ‘tua-kuh’, or sorts, and thinking about him, reminded me of the times when i was still a little boy.

He’s a guy who’d really feed me a lot of nice stuff, really a lot of nice stuff.

From the smallest little superduper sweetest candy he could get his hands on, to a full savoury piece of moon-pie that was around the house. The nice rambutans and oranges, and pears and all the good healthy fruits…we also shared the same preference of not letting anyone know that we are eating the things we eat…*hehe..*
The last time I went back to Indonesia, I had two more relatives than I do now. Maybe it’s time I should go back and see them ehh…

My maternal grandma passed last Sept, and this time round, my uncle.

No time to go back for the funeral proceedings though..but i do wish i had the chance to meet him once more before he passed…don’t we all do…

I remembered his last comments….

‘whoa…you’re so big now!’

‘you want  apple?  No? How bout the pear?’

then…

‘here…some grapes for you..’

and before i went back…

‘keep the chocolate…tua kuh cannot eat..you eat…’

and yeah…

sad…he’s a non-believer…

and these things..make you wonder…again…

tua kuh, with your diabetes and HBP…you can’t eat all those …

but he loved eating them…

and….i knew that though he wasn’t supposed to…he did sneak in one or two…

and whatever it was…thanks for all the love, the memories and the food…

When the trio of us went out today, and was really enjoying ourselves, in our own world, without a care about whatever was going on around us (kind of), i really felt the joy and meaning of friendship.

Like what Rissa said, even though the three of us all have our own relationships (boy/girlfriends), we were out all day enjoying ourselves without their presence, and i really felt the true meaning of friendship.

Though it was quite some time back, in fact almost half a year since we last met each other and went out like that, the bond within us was still present. Thank God for that, and yeah…i really did enjoyed myself.

But whatever happened to my other  ‘friendships’ that i once had?

In school, in my small little cozy Timotious/Gpo family?

i’ve got lots of friends, but very little number of close friends. sad truth..but it’s the truth…and i really appreciate you guys…you know who you are…=)

and for the rest…how i hope to have time to spend with you all…=)

before i leave this city/country…so that i can have something to come back for…
